Some may ask why in a disaster some people are save and others are not? Well Jesus said to his sheep that no harm will come to them. He also said that he is our provider. Lets look at what the Bible says about protection. Lets look at the book of Psalm 32:1 it says Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the Lord does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit. Now look at verse 7 it says You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. What a Blessing!!!

It says in Proverbs 2:11 Discretion will protect you, and understanding will guard. Wisdom will save you from the ways of the wicked men, who delight in doing wrong and rejoice in the perverseness of evil, whose paths are crooked and who are devious in their ways.

Jesus said in John 17:11 I will remain in the world no longer, and I am coming to you. Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name—the name you gave me—so that they may be one as we are one. While I was with them, I protected them and kept them safe by that name you gave me. None has been lost except the one doomed to destruction so that Scripture would be fulfilled.

Look at what the apostle Paul says about love and how it protects. In the Book of 1Corinthians 13:4 it says Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Let me share with you an example of God’s protection. In the year of 1999, I was driving from Texas to Chicago. I was 300 miles outside of Chicago, and decided to continue driving to reach Chicago by midnight. I stopped to gas up the car and when I got back into my car it wouldn’t start. I had to get the car towed to a garage, and get a hotel room over night. Minutes after I got to my room I turned on the TV and heard that a Tornado was approaching on the same highway which I was driving. If my car had not stop working, I would have kept on driving until I reach Chicago, and drove right into the Tornado. What a Blessing it is to have God on you side, protecting you. All I can say is Thank You Jesus!!!

Now we wonder why? What is the purpose behind this? Well lets look at Proverbs 19:21 it says Many are the plans in a man’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. What a man desires is unfailing love; better to be poor than a liar. The fear of the Lord leads to life: Then one rests content, untouched by trouble.

It says in the book of Isaiah 55:10 As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.

Now look at the book of Romans 8:28 it says And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.

In conclusion: Imitating Christ is the way we should try to be like. In the book of Philippians 2:1 it says If you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any fellowship with the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion, then make my joy complete by being like-minded, have the same love, being one in spirit and purpose. Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Love Always,
Your Sister in Christ,
Mellody Davis

1. Your Anchor in a Storm By Daniel N. Brown
Many times, when we fall into trials we may be tempted to ask, "Where is God? Well, God is there even when we can't see Him.On gray, gloomy, rainy days, high above the overcast sky, the sun continues to shine. We can't feel its warmth or see its beauty, but it still exists.God's beauty and His love for us are real even when our circumstances are difficult. If we think "above the clouds," we can have hope knowing that God is still there.Just as gray, gloomy, overcast skies are temporary, so are…

2. You Are Truly an Angel, Radiating Your Love Wherever You Go By George Lockett
"I will continue to try and do my own part to alleviate fear, which I feel is the greatest stumbling block on our collective way towards change."I agree with the above statement, but I would just like to suggest changing a couple of words: Change "try" I feel when we are trying we are not being ourselves. I feel it is better to be true to yourself and just be whom you are. Change "Fear" Fear is the opposite of love, if we honour ourselves and follow our hearts desire, we will be coming from lo…

3. Resting in the Son By Kim Bloomer
"Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices; my body also will rest secure..." Psalm 16:9, NIVMy dog Shadrach has the laying down in the sun part down pretty good. As the weather warms into early spring here in NM, he is spending more and more time out in the sun basking in the pleasant warmth of this time of year. I look out at him as I go about my daily chores and it was in watching him that the Holy Spirit spoke very clearly to me about resting in the Son.Rather than all the striving…

4. Create Miracles in Your Life By Richard Webster
Until recently, miracles were usually credited to a supernatural power. The miracles in the Bible are a good example. Nowadays, miracles can be described as something that is extraordinary, inexplicable and unexplainable by normal circumstances. We all need a miracle, even a small one, every now and again. An example of a small miracle might be finding a parking space downtown on a busy afternoon. A larger miracle could be finding the perfect career opportunity, meeting a new partner, or …
