’Hope’ the greatest strength and weakness of a human being” said a man dressed in all white. And sitting in a strange room filled with TV-screens to another person who was quite younger than him and dressed in complete black (not to mention he was also wearing black sunglasses although there was no sunlight coming in the room). Well you might have guessed till now I am talking about a scene from a blockbuster movie “THE MATRIX RELOADED”. When Keanu Reeves had to face a difficult situation to choose between his love and the rest of the world. Often this scene rushes to my mind and each time I recall it , I realize how true the man was. The power of hope is too strong to be expressed in words. No matter how much devastated one may be . There is always a tiny light sparkling inside him, hidden in his emotions, feelings and cries. This my friend is the light of hope that keeps us alive and face the cruel world. The true nature of hope appears to me as an enigma, a paradox, a puzzle that cannot be solved. Sometimes we hope too much and when these hopes are drowned our heart sinks in oceans of sadness and despair. This makes us weak…..but is this bad for us ???. When we do not get everything we desire it makes us realize that how small we are, and we realize the power of God Almighty. Just for a few moments try to imagine a world filled with people having no hope. You Would see faces of grief with sadness and despair etched in each line of every face we thank GOD for blessing us with this gift…..we cannot imagine a world without it. And as, in sparkling majesty, a star Gilds the bright summit of some gloomy cloud; Brightening the half veil'd face of heaven afar: So, when dark thoughts my boding spirit shroud, Sweet Hope, celestial influence round me shed, Waving thy silver pinions o'er my head! The Nature of Prayer By Eric Engel And How We Use ItIn our modern world of science, we’re sometimes tempted to think of prayer, petition, and merit as a mathematic equation. “Pray about X for Y number of hours, fasting for W days, and X will be answered.” We’ve come to expect an immediate answer to our problems…like a simple program that has occasional bug, but generally works well with a few clicks of the mouse. This kind of error is one that puts limits on God. We end up thinking of Him as a reaction to us, as opposed to us be… 2. Formula for Spiritual Growth By Lynn Bradley
